水素吸入療法が前頭側頭型認知症(FTD)に対しても、同様に認知機能や脳の変性に対して良い影響を示せるかどうかは今後の研究結果次第ではあります。しかし、水素ガスの効果や作用機序から考えると、同様の治療効果を示してくれることに期待が持てると思います。
また、FTDに対する治療は選択肢が限られている現状を考えると、現行の薬物療法やリハビリテーションに追加して行う価値も感じさせてくれました。
